Poletech (Formerly AC Whalan Composites) began in 1995 when the Company installed and commissioned its first Filament Winding machine. This enabled us to develop & manufacture custom made Patented (FRP) Ventilation Ducting complete with Australian Minerals Department Fire Retardant Anti Static (FRAS) approval. Distributed by A.C. Whalan & Co., the Composite MV Ventilation Ducts have been a market leader since that time.

2007.Commissioned Australia's newest & longest state-of-the-art, purpose built Filament Winding facility in Mt Thorley NSW.
2010.Addition of two new advanced CNC Multi Spindle winders.
2011.Poletech developed Australia's first 100% Australian made Composite Power Pole.
2021.Business name change from AC Whalan Composites to Poletech.
2023.Poletech open their new Manufacturing facility in Beresfield.

First Australian made Composite Power Pole
Developed Australia's first 100% Australian made Composite Power Pole. Our Power Poles, up to 12.5m in length, are manufactured in a one piece construction using a filament winding manufacturing process.

Through the growth of our technologies we made a business name change from AC Whalan Composites to Poletech.

Poletech opens a new manufacturing facility
In Feburary 2023, Poletech open their new manufacturing facility in Beresfield.

The Poletech team's ability to design & manufacture products to meet customer's specific project applications, has resulted in numerous speciality products such as Composite Power Poles, Pressure pipe, Tanks, Fittings, Wet Exhaust Tube and Defence Department specials, to be designed prototyped & brought to fruition. All these projects & products have been delivered with a strong customer focus in mind.
Delivering Our Work Safely
With continued growth in our core products & additional development products with the CSIRO, in 2007 the Company commissioned its second and Australia's newest & longest state of the art purpose built Filament Winding facility in Mt Thorley NSW. The opening of this facility has increased our capacity & ability to manufacture additional FRP products for specialised chemical & pressure applications. In 2010 the addition of two new advanced CNC multi - spindle winders into this facility increased both the production & repeatable high end quality capabilities of our operation.
